Yep. Just press escape when the Swivik panel is open, and you'll be back to where you were before. No window switches will be performed.
Yes, Swivik shows you an up-to-date preview of each window as you flick through them. So you can visually find the window you're after.
Note: Swivik sometimes can't obtain a preview of a window, e.g., if it is minimized.
